Our Week

It has been another busy week for us!  John was in Chicago for a few days at the beginning of the week, so I had to depend on my two oldest to be good helpers.  Ben didn't really like being "the man of the house" while Daddy was gone, so he thought Olivia should be "the kid of the house" since she is the oldest!  The kids and I enjoyed watching the Oscars on Sunday; of course we had to watch Baby Looney Tunes, too!  We got to go to Grandma's house for dinner one of the nights, so that was a nice break!   Sam turned 7 months old this week!  He is getting his fifth tooth!!
Sam loves taking a bath.  Olivia likes to style his hair after we wash it!  He is so patient:-)
I got to sneak out of school and attend the last 10 minutes of Olivia's Valentine's party, which was postponed because we had a snow day.  I took this picture before she knew I was there.  She picked out her dress especially for the party!

It was so nice on Wednesday, so we let Ben wear shorts under his sweat pants.  As soon as he got home he wanted to take his pants off and play outside.  He wears his snow boots every day; hopefully he won't want to wear them this summer. . . . . .

Back to school and daycare!

Olivia didn't have school on Monday, and our daycare provider took the day off. . .so John stayed home with all three kids!  I had to work and had parent/teacher conferences from 3-8 that evening.  The kids and John went to Lincoln to spend the day with their grandma and grandpa; aunt Nancy; and cousins, Julia and Jack.  They went to an indoor play park and had a blast!  Too bad John forgot the camera:-(  They got home about 30 minutes before I did; they were already asleep!
After four days at home, time to get to bed early!  Olivia and Sam after their bath (Ben was still in the tub).  Olivia has been dying for me to take a picture of her holding her brother!
John has the magic touch----just read Kiplinger's to Sam and he's out like a light!

Happy Valentine's Day

Sam was a sweet Valentine!  He wore some sneakers today (his fat little feet already outgrew his first pair)!  We did catch him biting his shoes quite a bit; he was looking for his toes.  Sam got a new puppy today and really liked snuggling with it, Ben enjoyed his new Batman figure (now he says he needs a new "Wobin"), and Olivia was very surprised by another addition to her Littlest Pet Shop (she was busy all morning setting them up---of course after she played a great basketball game)!

John and the kids got me these beautiful flowers!
Sam really likes his vegetables.  Squash was a hit. . . . . . . .carrots will be later this week!
We had to stop eating so Mommy could take a picture. . . . .Sam was still hungry!
We hope he is always this happy after eating vegetables!!

Snow Day!

We finally had a snow day on Friday!  Olivia was a little disappointed because she was excited for her Valentine's Day party at school, but getting to play in the snow helped her to get over it quickly.  This time last week they were riding their bikes!  They enjoyed playing in the snow all weekend, especially the snowball fights with Dad!  The "little" slope in our front yard actually made for some good sledding!

Spring in February!

We got outside and enjoyed the great weather this weekend.  The kids had fun riding bikes, and we all took Sam for a walk--he and Ben rode in the stroller and Olivia rode her bike!  Sam is such a big boy now; he thinks he can hold his bottle even while he is sleeping!  The fresh air knocked him out!
Olivia still remembers how to use the hula hoop!
Ben wanted to use his "motorcycle gloves"---he said that his hands were sore from riding his bike so much!
Olivia and Ben also did some art work while Sam watched.  Olivia is wearing her new favorite hair accessory.
Sam's top two teeth just poked through----he now has four teeth!!

Where did January go??

Once again, I'm a bit behind on the blog!  So here are a bunch of pictures highlighting our month. . . . .it has been a fun one!  We have hit a few milestones:  Olivia lost her other front tooth, so she is officially hoping for "two front teeth."  Sam has just cut his two bottom teeth; he was a bit fussy, but still managed to be his easygoing self most of the time:-)  He did have an ear infection as well, so he is now finishing his medicine and beginning to feel better:-) Ben had a little cold, but for the most part has been healthy. . .and Olivia hasn't even had a cold (I'm knocking on wood right now).  Ben is writing his name now and still spelling several words.  Olivia loves school and enjoyed celebrating the 100th day of school; she brought 100 Skittles to share with the class--she wanted to go shopping for a dress with the words "100th Day of School" on it, but I talked her out of it!  With two new teeth Sam is now eating cereal and liking it; he is getting close to sitting without support--for now he is pretty content on the floor rolling around.  He loves to play with is feet; Olivia keeps asking me, "Why does Sam have to be so cute?"  Both Olivia and Ben are a great help with Sam. . . . .also with cleaning (as you can see in some pictures below).  The kids went to the library a couple of times this month with Daddy, and we all went swimming one Friday night at the YMCA; all three kids had a great time.  Olivia and Ben went to a friend's birthday party yesterday at Boingz---they had a great time going down all the slides and jumping, jumping, jumping.  I'll try to update the blog more frequently in the future. . . . . .

Sam has found his feet and loves playing with them!
Here is Sam getting some exercise!
Here is the cute little cleaning crew I have hired.  They do a great job on windows!

Sam likes sitting up so he can see what everyone else is doing!
He is starting to roll off his blanket now.  Olivia and Ben let us know EVERY time he does it!
Olivia showing off her missing front teeth; Ben is showing off his cool shades!
Ben is really wanting to practice writing now.    Here he is showing Daddy what he can do.
Sam is a good sleeper!  He fell asleep here playing with his football, baseball, and basketball.  Check out those legs!
Mommy was running the vacuum. . . . .and Sam fell asleep!
Sam loves sitting in his high chair.
Olivia and Ben like to put this toy on Sam's head; he doesn't always like it.
