Busy Week

We had another busy week!  Ben made his annual Leprechaun face and hat (pictured below)--it was 70's degrees on St. Patty's Day, so the kids went for a walk at daycare. . . .when they came back they think a leprechaun must have been at Carrie's because some things were out of place. . . .the same thing happened at Olivia's school---both Olivia and Ben talked about it all night!

Soccer season has started!  John is coaching both teams with Steve, so they are going to be busy!  At least both teams practice the same night right after the other!  They had their first game yesterday, and played well.  John couldn't be there because he was playing in his own game---Pius X Annual Alumni Basketball Tournament.  He played Friday night and all day on Saturday-----his team WON!  They were feeling pretty good about themselves since most of the teams they play are 10 years younger than them. . . .he even got a battle wound this year---cut his chin open and had to have it glued back together----the kids think it's cool:-)

Since John was gone most of the weekend, we were visited on Friday night by Aunt Angela--she enjoyed spending time with the kids and it got her out of watching the March Madness b-ball with Tyler:-)She's getting pretty good and feeding Sam and changing his diapers!  She is due in eight weeks!!!  Amy and I are having a shower for her next weekend, so we're looking forward to that.  Grandma Jane went with us to shop for some shower gifts---anytime we go shopping lately Olivia wears necklaces, bracelets, and always brings a purse--she was a big help!  Ben got bored quite quickly, and Sam was content most of the time!

This afternoon we went to the musical at my school--"Seven Brides For Seven Brothers"--Ben didn't want to go, so Olivia took her friend Lauren---they had a great time!  I thought the musical was done very well---it's fun to see high school students perform like that!

I've got  A LOT of school work to get to, since I didn't do any of it this weekend----I might have to quit early though so I can continue reading the latest book we are reading with Olivia--The Magic Treehouse #20---it's a series of books for kids, every single one of them has been great.  It's John's turn to read with her tomorrow before bed, so I may not get to hear the end of the book if I don't just read it myself:-)

Olivia and Lauren being silly on the way to the musical--Olivia's front teeth are coming in quickly!
Sam sporting some new shoes.
Olivia ready to go shopping!
Aunt Angela feeding Sammy----I think his tummy might be bigger than her tummy!
Our leprechaun, Benjamin:-)

Last weekend we went to the carnival at Olivia's school.  It was a 50's theme and was totally free.  Usually there are lots of games and different bounce houses that cost money, but this year they centered the fundraiser around a read-a-thon.  The students kept track of how many minutes they read and asked people to sponsor them----this was perfect because Olivia is reading like crazy, so she enjoyed keeping track of her minutes.  It also allowed the carnival to be free and a bit smaller, which was nice.  Olivia got to limbo (look at that form), hula hoop, cake walk, and dance with her friends!  She had a fun time.  Ben and Sam were good sports and allowed us to stay for 90 minutes!
Grandma Jane came over on Saturday for a few hours.  Of course, Olivia and Ben talked her into playing a game of Sorry.
Sam has been bouncing himself to sleep lately. . . . . .he is finally getting rid of his runny nose!  As you can tell by looking at his ankles and feet. . . . he is still eating well:-)

Basketball ends; Soccer begins!

Olivia's basketball season is over. . .just in time!  All three of the kids have been sick the last week.  Sam is getting over ear infection and Olivia and Ben have had a virus that has lasted forever!  Ben has had a high fever and cough since last Friday, and Olivia's started Monday.  Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa in Lincoln, I only had to take off work one day---I did enjoy being home with the kids though (it would have been more fun if they hadn't been sick)!  We're going to try school and daycare tomorrow. . . . . . . .

Olivia really likes basketball.  She has improved a lot this year.  Here she is waiting for a rebound during warm-ups!
She plays in the YMCA league, so before each game the teams stand in a circle and recite the "Y Oath"  Who's that big guy wearing the hat?
This happens a lot during the game. . . . . .a big blob surrounds the player with the ball:-)
Ben and his friends like to cheer on their siblings. . . . . . .these are some of Ben's soccer teammates--------soccer starts next week for both kids!!!!!!!

Some of us like to workout. . .others like to sleep!

Olivia and Ben really enjoy "working out" with Mommy and Daddy.  This has become something we all do together on the weekends--John is much more dedicated than I am, but I'm slowly getting back into working out. . .no marathons yet. . . .or ever:-)

Another common weekend occurrence has been Spiderman coming to visit. . .we've gotten our money's worth for this Halloween costume!
Sam usually has some tummy time while we're working out. . . . .but sometimes he prefers to sleep!
